Premises available: Level 3, 330 Little Collins St, Melbourne CBD

Fabulous Melbourne CBD premises available for:
  • a funded start-up (or several friendly start-ups),
  • a small tech / web development / creative / design / venture capital company,
  • a tech incubator or small co-working space.

Techseeder is currently leasing fabulous premises in the Melbourne CBD, but we're aiming to relocate to somewhere smaller. This provides an opportunity for a young tech company, or perhaps an expanding co-working space / incubator, to grab our lease now, before we formally put the premises back onto market.

Some points to note are as follows.

If you're interested, please call me immediately (i.e. today) . Several businesses have already expressed keen interest in taking on the lease (and will decide within days): everyone who's seen it loves it! The place will get snapped up very quickly.

Every developer can have a window seat

Lots of space for meeting tables, couches, etc

Before we moved in, looking west. Masses of natural sunlight!

Before we moved in, looking east. Tall windows on three sides!

Huge kitchen for homemade lunches and late dinners

Right in the heart of the Melbourne CBD

Things we love about our space

A huge space! A whole floor!!!

Having a whole, open-plan floor to yourself totally changes the way in which you can use the area.

We had enough space not just for coding but also for a conference room (for meetings of up to 10 people), a break-out space (for reading, drinks on Friday nights, etc), a library, a small gym, a theatrette where entrepreneurs would give presentations to angel investors, etc, etc.

There's loads of space here: we understand it's 172 m2 (though please don't count on the exact figure until it's been confirmed in writing by the landlord). How many people will that fit?

We loved having the extra space, because it provided the opportunity to use the extra room for things like mentoring sessions for young startups, presentations by entreprenuers to investors, etc.

Windows that open ... wide open!

The openable windows won my heart when I first stepped into this space. In a modern office, you're enclosed in a glass cage. Here, you're totally open to the sounds and smells of the world outside. When it rains, just lean out to feel the rain on your skin! In the evening, let the sounds of the salsa band in the laneway below drift right up to your desk. The ambience is extraordinary!

Sunny and bright! Windows on all three sides!

Have a look at the two shots above of what the place looked like just before we moved in. As you can see, there are windows on all three sides - which is almost unheard-of in the CBD.

Note also that we don't have any other buildings towering alongside this one, so you get the benefit of the natural light all day. On cloudless days, the sun streams in through the easterly windows in the mornings and from the westerly windows in the afternoons, flooding the whole floor with sunshine.

A gym in the office?

If you're feeling dozy after lunch, or stressed when some code won't work ... lift a few weights! There's plenty of space here, so we set up a small gym of our own, and it was one of the best things we did.

Huge, full-size kitchen!

If you're hungry at work, no need to go out: cook up a meal in the kitchen! It's a full-size kitchen - roomy enough for a fridge, dishwasher, sink, cupboards, benchtop for food preparation, coffee machine, toaster, microwave, etc, as well as a dining table. We're even give you our fridge, toaster and other stuff, if you like.

Things we love about the location

Public transport to ANYWHERE in Melbourne!

Public transport is awesome here. Trams rattle along Elizabeth St, right below the window. A sixty second sprint gets you to Collins St if you turn left, to Bourke St if you turn right and to Swanston St if you run straight ahead. A fast three minute sprint gets you to Flinders St railway station. The Skybus goes directly past our building on Elizabeth St on its way to/from the airport. Numerous taxis drive past all day and all night. In other words, pretty well every transport route in Melbourne is just a couple of minutes from the front door.

Funky cafes, restaurants, bars!

This neighbourhood is full of cafes, restaurants and bars of every imaginable hue and style. The New Guernica bar/nightclub and the extraordinary Chuckle Park (a weirdly wonderful bar in a 3-metre laneway with fake grass, a 1950s caravan and icons of the Virgin Mary) are immediately adjacent to us. Whether you're a gourmet foodie, a coffee snob or just someone who wants to wolf down a cheap and nutritious bowl of pho, it's all within metres of the front door.

Live music everywhere!

The immediate vicinity (i.e. within ~100 metres) is full of live music, from buskers to bands: the professor busking lovely Bach preludes on the cello on the corner, the acoustic guitarist strumming 1960s' Beatles songs in Elizabeth St, the Latin American band playing salsa live in the laneway .... it's all around you. If you want the living, breathing the soul of Melbourne right there with you, this is the place to be!

Castles with turrets right next door!

We're surrounded by extraordinary 19th century heritage architecture! Much of it's well known and visible to people at street level. But from up here you get an enthralling view of some amazing old buildings, some almost derelict. E.g. here's a photo of a castle with turrets right across the road!

Classy, boutique shopping

If you're into classy shopping, we're surrounded by iconic Melbourne laneways and arcades. E.g. the super-elegant Block Arcade is literally a stone's throw away (i.e. if you hurled a stone from the kitchen window ...).

Grunge and graffiti

If grunge is your preference, the grungy Union Lane laneway , full of amazing graffiti, is in our block. Here are two graffiti photos I took last week.
